Greetings on what some choose to refer to this day as, Black Friday! I would imagine that many of you will take advantage of the extra-special sales, although it appears that many retailers, both brick-and-mortar and online, have “jumped the gun” this year by opening up on Thanksgiving Day. In fact, by the time some of you read this you will have already returned home with your treasures!
Is it just me or does it seems like stores are opening earlier and earlier each year, in hopes of beating out the competition? Before we know it we’ll have one continuous sale going on. I recall one year, probably close to ten years ago when my daughter and I, eager to take advantage of some of those “early bird” blockbuster sales if you arrived at the 5am opening, actually pulled ourselves out of bed at “O Dark Thirty” and braved the winter cold to stand in line as the doors opened to “beat the rush”!
The only rush I felt was to hightail it back home and jump under the warm covers of my comfy bed! Now, don’t get me wrong…I have to admit it WAS a bit fun to be there but it was more of a mother-daughter shopping spree/together time that compelled me to go that day. I can’t blame the big retailers for wanting to make sure they’re “in the black” by year end…good for them. Plus, it’s job security for many employees.
What I’d like you to consider however…and perhaps you already have… is to participate in Small Business Saturday – the day following Black Friday. #shopsmall
This country’s future lies in the small business owner’s success. Those of us who are solo-preneurs, own a small business with employees or are a partner in small business are the backbone of this great country and we need to do all we can to support each other in our endeavors. That’s another reason why Affiliated Women Int’l. has worked so diligently to develop NEIGHBORHOOD BOUTIQUES…to build a strong, solid online community…where like-minded women can thrive.
As you are planning your marketing strategy for 2015, please consider becoming a NEIGHBORHOOD BOUTIQUES member-owner. Linda, Jen and I are planning to roll out some very exciting additions to create even more value to an already exceptional opportunity to help you grow, both personally and professionally…and to provide maximum exposure for your business.
As I’m writing this post, I’m reflecting on the many blessings in my life. My Thanksgiving Day with my husband, children and grandchildren was so very special. I am truly a blessed woman. My commitment is to be a woman of excellence in every area of my life – spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially and relationally – and to be a role model that others desire to follow. What is your mission statement?
Let’s team up together to help you reach your goals…2015 is knocking!!!
