its monday again

It is easy to forget to be thankful for the blessing in our lives.  It seems like everyone is striving for more and more, instead of being thankful for what they already have.  Every day I meet clients and colleagues who are full of complaints – lack of money, lack of possessions, lack of business.  One of my 2015 resolutions is to distance myself from these people.  The negativity tends to rub off and there is no room for that in my life.  I have also decided to scale down on networking events and work my business.

Do you have someone to support your business ideas?   Have you allowed negative people to penetrate your life, bringing down your business success?  Do you spend too many hours networking and not enough time building your business?

As a solo entrepreneur, I know that nothing good is going to happen if I don’t work.  Calls are not going to be made, clients are not going to order and art and orders are not going to be completed unless I do it.  That’s a lot of pressure!  Partnering with positive people makes being successful a lot easier.

I start each day with a plan to succeed. It’s not always easy. There are days that I’d like to stay home, put my feet up, read a book and enjoy a glass of wine.  Unfortunately, if I give in to those thoughts, my business will fail. Often clients are too busy to meet with me.  I will stop by and say  ‘hi’ anyway.  Occasionally I’ll drop an email or drop off a promotional item just to give them a reason to think of me, if only for a few moments.  It seems to be working!

I am blessed to have a husband who supports my dreams.  I will often run ideas by him and he will take the time to give me an honest opinion.  We will discuss the pros and cons and decide a plan of action.  I haven’t always been in a position to pave my own way, so I appreciate a second, honest opinion.  He wants me to succeed as much as I do!!

If you find yourself struggling to succeed, don’t despair!!  It is still January!!  You have 11 months to make your business everything you want it to be.  It takes hard work and dedication, but at the end of the day, the personal satisfaction you’ll get from following your plans will far outweigh the hard work.  The most important thing is to not give up and to follow the mantra ‘If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me!!”

Go out and have a great week!!

Excellent piece Cindy. I’ve always said that we can spend too much time networking and too little time working our business. And your “drip-drip-drip” approach is absolutely right on! Thanks much!
